The
Collection (descending) is a movie that creates a
single object from the vast holdings of one museum.
Approximately 100,000 works cascade from top to
bottom, ordered by date - descending in time from
the 21st century - by collection, type, genre,
location, and artist. The piece presents works that
are simultaneously exhibited in the museum along
with another 95% of unseen works that remain in
storage from textiles, hats, plates, glass,
miniatures, baskets, statues, sculpture, paintings,
portraits, coins, photographs, furniture, drawings,
and manuscripts to over 60,000 works on paper.
